In today’s organizations, critical data has become distributed across multiple pipelines run by multiple teams, each with different set of objectives. This is good—it means that innovation is happening in surprising places. But how do we keep this fragmentation from becoming counterproductive? Are there social mechanisms we can introduce to keep things flexible, operational, and sane?
