Acceptable Use Policy

By using Astronomer’s products and services (“Service”) or accessing and using any Astronomer-branded publicly available websites, including sites located on *.astronomer.io (“Sites”), you agree to abide by this Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”).

This AUP supplements, and is incorporated into, Astronomer’s Master Subscription Agreement (currently published at https://www.astronomer.io/legal/msa/, the “Agreement”) and Astronomer’s Terms of Service (currently published at https://www.astronomer.io/legal/terms-of-service/, the “Terms”).

Capitalized terms have the meaning stated in the Agreement and/or the Terms. If any provision in this AUP conflicts with a term in the Agreement, then the applicable provisions of Agreement will prevail unless the term in this AUP specifically states that it will prevail.

This AUP may be updated by Astronomer from time to time upon reasonable notice, which may be provided through the Sites, Service, or by posting an updated version of this AUP. Updates of the AUP become binding, including on existing users, on the later of the date specified in the updated AUP or thirty (30) days after posting. Any modification to the AUP within an update will relate solely to restrictions on use of, and access to, the Service and/or Sites. Any violation of this AUP may result in the suspension or termination of your access to and use of the Service and/or Sites.

Illegal Use

The Service and Sites may be used only for lawful purposes. Transmission, distribution, or storage of any content in violation of any applicable law or regulation is prohibited. This includes, without limitation, material protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret or other intellectual property right used without proper authorization, and material that is obscene, defamatory, constitutes an illegal threat, or violates export Control laws.

System Use

Interference with the functionality of the Service is prohibited. Examples include but are not limited to:

  • attempt to access, search, or create accounts for the Service by any means other than our publicly supported interfaces or as otherwise authorized by Astronomer;
  • permit direct or indirect access to or use of the Service in a way that violates the Agreement;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service, or gain access to any system that connects thereto, except as required to appropriately access and use the Service;
  • store, transmit, make available, or process
    • content that is infringing, libelous, unlawful, tortious, deceptive, threatening, offensive, propagating hate or violence, causing harm to others or to Astronomer’s reputation, unauthorized, or in violation of third-party rights,
    • content or technology that harms, interferes with, or limits the normal operation of the Sites and/or Service, including monitoring traffic or data, or
    • viruses, malware, or other malicious code;
  • use the Service to distribute or facilitate the sending of unsolicited or unlawful email, messages, or promotions of any kind;
  • facilitate activities related to misappropriating another individual’s identity, including, but not limited to, improperly obtained credit card information and/or account credentials;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to discover the source code, object code, or underlying structure, or algorithms of the Service;
  • modify, translate, copy, or create derivative works based of the Service, including any part, feature, function, or user interface, except to the extent expressly permitted by Astronomer or authorized within the Agreement;
  • use the Service for time sharing or service bureau purposes, or otherwise for the benefit of a third party; or remove any proprietary notices or labels contained therein; or
  • build similar or competitive products or services.

Network Security

You may not use the Service to violate the security or integrity of any network, computer or communications system, software application, or network or computing device (each, a “System”). Prohibited activities include:

  • Accessing or using any part of the Service without permission, including attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or to breach any security or authentication measures used by the Service.
  • Monitoring of data or traffic without permission.
  • Forging TCP-IP packet headers, e-mail headers, or any part of a message describing its origin or route (the legitimate use of aliases and anonymous remailers is not prohibited by this provision).

You may not make network connections to any users, hosts, or networks unless you have permission to communicate with them. Prohibited activities include:

  • Monitoring or crawling that impairs or disrupts the Service.
  • Inundating a target with communications requests so the target either cannot respond to legitimate traffic or responds so slowly that it becomes ineffective (DDoS).
  • Interfering with the proper functioning of the Service, including any deliberate attempt to overload a system.
  • Operating network services like open proxies, open mail relays, or open recursive domain name servers.
  • Using manual or electronic means to avoid any use or consumption limitations within the Service.

Monitoring and Enforcement

Astronomer may investigate any suspected violation of this AUP and remove or disable access to any content or resource that violates this AUP. You agree to cooperate with Astronomer to remedy any violation.
