Join us for Beyond Analytics, coming September 16

tl;dr: We’re excited to share that Beyond Analytics, a virtual DataOps conference presented by Astronomer, is taking place on September 16. Get your free ticket to explore how data engineering is evolving from internal analytics to mission-critical applications!
Until relatively recently, data engineering was principally concerned with moving data between systems and modeling it for internal consumption—through ETL/ELT workflows ultimately ending up in dashboards to be used by internal business teams.
While those core use cases continue to be critical functions of data engineering, it’s no secret that the importance of data (and the teams who deliver it) has exploded. Data infrastructure has evolved from a supporting role to the linchpin of mission-critical and customer-facing applications.
From analytics to powering AI
Data teams now enable AI-driven user experiences, real-time recommendation engines, and data products that generate revenue directly. The shift from "analytics as a service" to "data as a product" is reshaping how we think about data architecture, reliability, and scale.
During this half-day virtual event, Beyond Analytics will bring together leaders from Ramp, Laurel, and more who have driven this evolution within their own teams. They’ll share the (oftentimes difficult) path to up-level people, process, and technology. You’ll leave with real-world examples of how data teams are having an outsized impact on the business with a roadmap of how to do the same.
We’ll also be joined by leaders from the data ecosystem, including Astronomer’s Chief Product and Technology Officers, Pete DeJoy and Julian LaNeve. They’ll share their perspectives on the technologies and patterns that will drive this next era of data engineering (and yes, that will absolutely include AI).
Join the pre-event crash course
To kick the day off, Airflow expert and creator of Data with Marc, Marc Lamberti will lead a fast-track introduction to Apache Airflow 3. The architectural changes in Airflow 3 were specifically designed to help Airflow better support more sophisticated use cases like MLOps and GenAI and we can’t wait to see how data teams keep pushing the limits of what Airflow can do with all the new capabilities in this release.
Happening immediately before the main event, this crash course is designed to help you prepare for the official Airflow 3 fundamentals certification exam. Everyone who attends will get a discount code for free fundamentals certification (a $150 value), meaning you’ll have everything you need to become the next certified Airflow engineer.
Welcoming the new era of data engineering
Whether you're a data engineer scaling beyond traditional ETL, a platform architect enabling teams to deliver customer-facing data products, or a data leader driving this transformation, Beyond Analytics offers insights tailored to the evolving landscape of data engineering.
Astronomer is excited to bring the ecosystem together for Beyond Analytics this September. We’re grateful for the support of our launch partners including Airbyte and dbt Labs who have helped make this event possible. If you are interested in joining Beyond Analytics as a partner or sponsor, get in touch.
