# astro deployment hibernate

> Hibernate a Deployment.

> [!NOTE]
>
> This command works differently depending on which Astronomer product you use. Select your product tab to see the details.

**Astro**

[Hibernate an Astro development Deployment](https://astronomer.io/docs/astro/deployment-resources.md#hibernate-a-development-deployment) for a set amount of time. Overrides any existing hibernation schedule and sets the Deployment to hibernate for a specific duration or until a specific date.

> [!NOTE]
>
> To complete this action, you need [Workspace Operator](https://astronomer.io/docs/astro/user-permissions.md#workspace-roles) permissions or a custom Deployment role that includes `deployment.hibernation.update`. Every option on this command sets or removes a hibernation override, so they all require this permission. Creating and editing hibernation schedules requires `deployment.update` instead. See [Custom role permissions reference](https://astronomer.io/docs/astro/deployment-role-reference.md#deployment-hibernation).

## Usage

```sh wrap theme={null}
astro deployment hibernate [one of --until/ --for/ --remove-override]
```
