Resident Architect
Field Engineering | Full-time, Remote
Astronomer is the commercial developer of Apache Airflow, a community-driven open-source tool that’s leading the market in data orchestration. We’re a globally-distributed and rapidly growing venture-backed team of learners, innovators and collaborators. Our mission is to build an Enterprise-grade product that makes it easy for data teams at Fortune 500’s and startups alike to adopt Apache Airflow. As a member of our team, you will be at the forefront of the industry as we strive to make Apache Airflow the de-facto standard in data orchestration.
As a Resident Data Architect, you will help Astronomer to be successful at our most strategic accounts. These organizations are leveraging Airflow to orchestrate mission-critical data pipelines. Your role will be to help these organizations establish and adopt best practices, promote Airflow education and certification, and identify new Airflow use cases.
Requirements
- Become the trusted advisor for Astronomer and Airflow to a select group of strategic customers.
- Advise these customers on a wide range of issues affecting their data orchestration needs.
- Communicate best practices for building, running, and observing their airflow environments.
- Recommend appropriate training and consulting engagements.
- Serve as product and industry expert during the sales cycle to demonstrate our ability to support the customer’s success after the sale.
- Communicate product requirements to the Product and Engineering organizations to aid with product improvement and development.
A Strong Candidate has...
- Six or more years of industry experience working with Enterprise IT .
- Experience with Apache Airflow in a production-level environment or related technologies such as ETL, Data Warehousing, and ML/AI.
- Empathy and is humble, is a strong verbal and written communicator, is eager to help customers solve problems and succeed in making Astronomer Airflow the de-facto standard in data orchestration.
- Some experience with Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes.
This role will include a mix of remote (WFH) and onsite activity. Candidates should be located in the US and be willing to travel up to 30%.
